I'll Organize When I'm Out

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the struggle,

I received the last issue of the New Abolitionist and was really touched by three articles.

First was the article by Stanely "Tookie" Williams. He said it best when he said, "Murder plus murder equals double murder." The second article I wanted to mention was the one by John Wheat’s brother. I could tell that he hurt writing this article. And the other article that really touched me was a letter from Nancy Resendiz. I could only assume that Angel Resendiz is her husband.

At any rate, she detailed what so many people go through behind these walls, and not only the ones on death row. Every day, I see people who have given up on life and hope. My heart goes out to Angel because I’ve experienced some of the same things he has--the pepper spray, the restraints, among others. Although I am not on death row, I can feel his pain.

I would really like to be at the convention in November, but I don’t get out until April. Maybe next year, I hope. Once I’m released from prison, I would like to organize a chapter of the Campaign here in Ohio.

I would also like to express my gratitude to everybody at the Campaign for sending me the New Abolitionist. Ever since I expressed interest in joining the Campaign, I’ve received the newsletter for free. I know this is possible through donations, and I thank everyone who donates and makes this possible.

I hope Stanley Williams receives the Nobel Peace Prize he is nominated for.
